A limit switch and a rule that turns the motor back
A carriage on a slide runs on a motor between two limit switches. Controls, at the foot of the Motion window, lists the switches with a lamp each and the rules they set off: when a switch goes on, stop, wait, and start the other way. On Play the carriage trips each switch at its place, the lamp lights, and the rule sends it back.

Clip · 37 sA stepper sent by a rule, and a beam that counts
A feed bar carries four pegs through a light beam. The beam is a gate; each time a peg breaks it, a rule sends a stepper 25 steps of 1.8 degrees and the dial's pointer moves on an eighth of a turn. A counter counts the crossings, and at four its rule stops the feed and sounds an alarm.
Clip · 52 sGears held at the meshing distance
With one gear drawn, the Gear tool holds the next on a dashed ring round it: anywhere on the ring is the meshing distance. One click places it with its teeth turned into the other's gaps, and a third gear goes on the second one's ring the same way. Then the third gear is clicked and dragged by its outline: it moves whole, held on the ring round its neighbour, and comes down in mesh again.
Clip · 48 sThe control panel: buttons, a toggle, lamps and an alarm
A barrier arm on a servo is run from the control panel, a small window of its own that stays up with the Motion window closed. Open and Close are buttons whose rules send the servo to a place, two lamps follow the limit switches, Lock is a toggle, and pressing Open while it is locked sounds an alarm in red.
